A Civic Awareness & Value Reorientation Programme by CMRI

The Awareness Campaign on National Responsibility is a civic education and public awareness programme designed to encourage Nigerians to understand and practise their responsibilities as citizens.
Nation-building is not the responsibility of government alone. Citizens, communities, businesses, institutions and leaders all have a role to play in building a more responsible, peaceful and prosperous society.
The campaign raises public awareness around:
Understanding and living out our duties.
Honouring the rules that hold society together.
Doing right, even when no one is watching.
Giving time and effort to the people around us.
Protecting what belongs to everyone.
Caring for the places we share.
Respect, tolerance and unity.
Responsible relationships between citizens and institutions.
Accessible, community-focused channels: community sensitisation, schools and youth engagements, public dialogues, radio and media campaigns, social media, street interviews, educational materials and community outreach. Our goal is to make national responsibility a practical everyday behaviour, not just an idea discussed at civic events.

Develop campaign materials, partnerships and pilot activities.
Increase community, school, youth and media engagement.
Build stronger partnerships with institutions, businesses, CSOs and development organisations.
Expand implementation across additional states.
A sustained national civic awareness movement promoting responsible citizenship.
